Reynolds confirmed at Bottle-O Racing

Posted: 09.02.2012 10:16

In great news for Ford fans it has been revealed today that David Reynolds has been signed to drive the #55 Bottle-O Racing Falcon in the 2012 V8 Supercar championship. The signing of Reynolds ends months of speculation regarding his future and also strengthens the lineup at the factory Ford team.

“I am extremely excited to join The Bottle-O Racing Team and Rod Nash and the new partnership leaves me feeling highly-motivated for this new chapter in my career,” Reynolds said. “Everyone here has welcomed me with open arms and the professionalism of the team is second to none. I’m really looking forward to driving with the factory Ford team and I cannot wait to sample a Falcon for the first time."

Rod Nash (license holder of the REC which Bottle-O Racing operates under) stated his pleasure at being able to sign Reynolds. “David is undoubtedly one of the stars of the future and we aim to work closely together to ensure our car joins the other two factory Fords at the head of the field. This should be made easier by the high level of development FPR has brought onto its cars in recent months so I am confident we are giving David a race-winning car."

Reynolds will get his first taste of the FPR prepared Bottle-O Racing Falcon at this sunday's season launch test session at Sandown Raceway.

James Moffat's 2012 is livery revealed

In an interesting break with tradition DJR and newly revealed naming rights sponsor Norton, revealed James Moffat's number 18 Ford Falcon V8 Supercar in Parramatta today. Instead of just pulling a sheet off the car to make the reveal, a special few spectators were picked out of the crowd to help DJR crew members fit the panels to the Falcon.

Over 7 minutes and 45 seconds the panels were bolted onto the Falcon to reveal the striking yellow and black colour scheme. With James Moffat giving fans an extra little treat by starting the engine and giving a few stabs on the throttle, no doubt signalling his intent to be at the very pinnacle of the field this year.

"I think the car looks really amazing and it reflects the enthusiasm that all the Norton team is feeling for the year ahead. Naming rights sponsorship has been a natural evolution, from the time Norton started sponsoring me in the Development Series a couple of years ago. I can't thank Norton enough for their support and commitment," said James Moffat.

The crowd agreed with this, with many stating how great the car looked and their hopes that it would often be seen at the front of the field. There is no doubt that fast looking cars usually do well, and Moffat's 2012 car certainly looks fast.

"We're thrilled to have Norton as the naming rights sponsor for car 18," said team boss, Dick Johnson. "They're the leaders in the Australian market and we're going to try our hardest to make them #1 on the race track."

We certainly hope that Moffat and DJR do get to make the Norton car the #1 on the track. Take a look at some more of our pics from the day and join the discussion about the livery on our forum HERE.

In exciting news for Sydneysiders DJR has decided to unviel the livery of James Moffats 2012 V8 supercar in the centre of Parramatta on monday. The unvieling will take place at 12 midday outside the Town Hall on Church Street.
In a break from the traditional unveiling, the car will be bolted together in front of your eyes. It is bound to be a awesome spectical with Parramatta providing an excellent backdrop.

At this moment in time major interest surronds who the sponser of the 2012 car will be. However, Street Fords believes, through reasonable deduction, that the car will feature major backing from Norton.
Take a look at the teaser image, it shows a car which looks like it will be a beautiful looking race car.

If you can't get to the event on monday, keep an eye out with Street Fords. We will be covering the event and will have all the updates as they happen.

Think you know more about the car? Or have a better idea who the major sponser will be? The join the discussion on our forum HERE.
