17/01/07 NRMA takes major leap in reducing the P-plate road toll |
In the latest bid to curve the P-plate road toll, NRMA Motoring & Services has launched an initiative that may just be the biggest leap yet.
Building on NRMA’s stong push for increased driver training comes an initiative to open a number of Safer Driver Schools throughout the Sydney, Eastern Suburb and Sutherland Shire areas.
“In a recent debate about P-platers, NRMS highlighted the need for more education for young drivers – now we are backing our words with action,” NRMA CEO Tony Stuart said.
“Our driving schools across Sydney will deliver more than enabling learner drivers to get their license – the schools will teach safer skills and attitudes.”
NRMA’s first driving school is already up and running, operating at North Strathfield in Sydney’s inner west. The school also features and Australian first, using driving simulators to teach pre-license drivers before the submitting them to the anguish of busy traffic.
The move comes welcomed from all angles, finally making a positive step to further driver training.
